If you want the best, come to the best – Idaho Weight Loss

Idaho Weight Loss was the first weight loss center in America with three physicians certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine.

Michelle M. Freshwater

MD, OMA, Diplomate of ABOM

“I started as a successful patient in our weight loss clinic. Finally getting control of my own weight made an incredible difference in my life. I want to help patients find the same success that I experienced. I like being a health partner with my patients. I hope to give them the knowledge and skills to manage their own health.”

“The fact that I have struggles with my own weight helps me relate to my patients. I understand the challenges they’re facing, and I draw on my own successes and failures to find solutions to obstacles. I love working with patients who take responsibility for their choices, actions, and success.”

Dr. Freshwater earned her M.D. from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed her residency training in family medicine at the Via Christi Family Practice Residency program in Wichita, KS. She is board-certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine and the American Board of Family Medicine.

Dr. Freshwater is a member of the Obesity Medicine Association and serves on its Advocacy Committee. She enjoys skiing, snowboarding, hiking and camping in the outdoors, as well as filmmaking with her husband and 2 active sons.
